Awkwafina Awkwafina, an American singer and actress began by releasing a humorous rap track that dealt with issues of race and sexuality. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood after she released a series of raps. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. Her birthplace was Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. She also received Jazz and classical training before when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. While at school, she majored in journalism, and women's studies at college, even studying Mandarin in Beijing for a time. When she graduated, she started to concentrate on music. The track My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. The track was later included on her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album featured other viral hits like the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. The track that was the last one to be linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was released in the year 2015. Apart from having published a book as well, she also worked as a performer. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors as well as Storks. In the year 2018, she was offered an array of noteworthy roles including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her new EP "In Fina We Trust".
